There’s nothing like seeing The Mother City from the air, so when I had the chance to join a helicopter flip, I was very excited. We started our adventure at Mugg & Bean in the V&A Waterfront, where one of the friendly staff members from NAC Helicopters collected us and transferred us to the heli pad. We were met upon arrival by staff who were so friendly and professional, offering us snacks and drinks as soon as we arrived. Before we could proceed, we were given keys to the lockers where we could store our things whilst on the heli flight, our weight was checked, we filled in all the necessary forms, and once completed, we waited for our adventure to begin! There were about five people on the flight, together with our friendly and trusted pilot, who took us around on the Hopper route. This route is a quick 12 minute flight that offers the most spectacular and picturesque views of the beautiful Mother City. We enjoyed views of Robben Island, Table Mountain, Devils Peak, Lions Head, the world renown Camps Bay beach as well as the Bakoven area. The pilot was very knowledgeable and gave commentary through our headphones throughout the flight. He added a little fun by doing small flips in between before landing. All in all, an amazing experience and such a perfect day to do it. I can highly recommend adding this to your ‘must do’s’ for your clients’ when they’re in Cape Town.
